Well, Old Broken Road has been out for one whole week! I’ve seen a few reviews crop up and that is always exciting. I hope everyone is enjoying the book. If you’ve finished, help me out by leaving an honest review either where you purchased the book or on Goodreads. (Or both!) Reviews help. A lot.
Those of you waiting for the Nook edition, fret not, the Nook version is out now. Yay! Eventually you’ll be able to buy the paperback from Barnes & Noble. It takes time though.
If you missed it yesterday, I now have Bell Caravan patches in my store. They’re so incredibly awesome, you should get one for your jean jacket or bag or whatever. Check ’em out.
If you need a refresher on the places and people of the Territories universe you might want to consider hitting up the Fan Art board on Pinterest. A lot of amazing artists have taken the time to illustrate their vision of the world. (If you have your own art, send it to me!) Likewise check out the inspiration board I put together for Old Broken Road, it’ll give you a glimpse into the imagery I was inspired by as I wrote the book.
Finally, if you haven’t picked up your copy there’s a bunch of ways to do so! See the list at oldbrokenroad.com. Just click the button for your favorite eBook platform, or order a paperback. Paperbacks ordered through Amazon and on my store also include the eBook version for FREE, that way you don’t have to wait for the book to arrive to start reading.
I really appreciate you showing me so much support and I hope you are enjoying the book! Thanks for taking the time to take a trip down the Old Broken Road. There’s a whole lot more to come.
Old Broken Road is out now!
That’s right, October 14th! Grab your keff and lace up your boots. Two weeks from now you’ll be able to join Waldo Bell on his next adventure: Old Broken Road.
That Tuesday the novel will be available digitally from Kindle, Kobo, iBooks, with Nook coming shortly afterward. Paperback copies are already in the works. I’m hoping they’ll be ready by October 14th, but if I can’t hit that date don’t worry, they’ll be coming soon. More on that as it develops.
Along with this announcement I have lowered the eBook version of The Stars Were Right to $2.99 pretty much everywhere. If you haven’t had a chance to read the first book now is a great time to grab it and start reading.
Get excited! There’s more to come. Check back often and make sure to add Old Broken Road to your to-read list on Goodreads, and tell your friends!
Sony has finally decided to exit the eBook space. While personally I have never been impressed with Sony’s readers, I do find this a bit sad as they were one of the eBook pioneers. However with strong rivals and little innovation on their part this really isn’t a surprise. Sony just doesn’t have the numbers to keep supporting development. According to their press release Sony will be transitioning Reader Store to Toronto based Kobo.
Shatskin has a really good write up on the whole thing over on his blog. He includes some links speculating that Nook will be shuttered by the end of the year. I’d recommend checking it out.
My oh my is this weekend is busy! I needed a little break from my to-do list so I figured why not update the ol’ blog:
- As I mentioned earlier this week The Stars Were Right is now available on Nook! So I have updated it’s site to reflect that. That was quick and easy.
- With the Nook launch out of the way I am renewing focus towards getting the physical copies finished. Things are going really well. I have a new proof coming! Looking forward to seeing it. That took a bit longer.
- I am getting a pre-launch site finished for Old Broken Road and prepping some video I shot for a book trailer. Yep, I’m going to mess with book-trailer creating. We’ll see how that goes.
- I am finishing my content edits for Old Broken Road. Getting close.
- Oh and there’s that whole NaNoWriMo thing.
Yep! As I said it’s a busy weekend! I hope everyone else’s weekend is going well. All right, my break time is over, it’s time to grab another cup of coffee and jump back into the fray.
I am pleased to announce that “The Stars Were Right” is finally available on Nook. It’s been a slog, but the formatting kinks are now worked out and it’s at a place where I feel comfortable releasing it! Jeeze! Finally!
Get “The Stars Were Right” for your Nook!
I hope you all enjoys the book! Don’t forget to add “The Stars Were Right” to your Goodreads profile, and when you’re done let me know what you think!
Busy, busy, busy! I’ll be keeping this short but there is a few things I wanted to share:
That’s all for now, my fighting with the Nook’s formatting bugs continue, and I’m still hard at work on “Old Broken Road.” I remain on schedule for the physical release for “The Stars Were Right.” As always: if you have read Stars make sure you leave a review and tell your friends!
