I hope everyone had a excellent holiday and that you’re looking forward to the new year. We’re coming into the final stretch of my latest contest so I figured it’d be nice to update everyone on the Old Broken Road Goodreads Giveaway.
We broke 300! As of right now there’s currently 325 of you signed up to win a signed paperback copy of Old Broken Road. Wow! That’s awesome! If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s real easy. All you have to do is log into your Goodreads account and click the Enter to Win link on the top of this page! That’s it! Only eight days left, the contest ends on January 6th.
Oh! Don’t forget to add Old Broken Road to your reading list!
We’re in the final stretch. And to celebrate the coming arrival of Old Broken Road I am doing a giveaway! It’s that simple! Good luck to everyone who participates. While you’re on Goodreads make sure you add Old Broken Road to your To Read shelf and (of course) tell all your friends!
I give away con swag for free, and I want to give it to you. For a while now many of you patient readers have been sending me little folded envelopes with a stamp in the mail. I’m happy to get them, but the process has bothered me. It seems a little slow and antiquated. Surely there is a better way to harness the power of the wondrous internet to get this stuff to you!
So, today I launched a swag section in my store. I’m currently charging a $1.00 to ship swag packs anywhere in the US. That should cover everything and expedite the process significantly. For now, only The Stars Were Right swag packs are live, but on the 14th when Old Broken Road launches, I’ll have Old Broken Road swag packs available. (I’m really excited about that one, new button, three new bookmarks, and new stickers. It’s very cool.)
Keep in mind, any time you buy my books direct from me, not only do I sign it, I also include a full swag pack. I might not be as cheap as Amazon, but I do include a lot of fun stuff.
So, yeah, I think the swag section is a pretty solid improvement. If you don’t have a credit card, I’m still happy to accept SASEs (address is on the Free Stuff page.) Just trying to get as much free stuff into your hands as quick I can!
It’s finally happening. Next Monday, September 1st, I will be releasing a sample of Old Broken Road at oldbrokenroad.com! My editor and I have been hard at work all summer and I’m pretty dang excited with the progress we’ve made. I can’t wait to give everyone a little taste of Waldo Bell’s next adventure. If you enjoyed The Stars Were Right I think you’ll love this one.
In the meantime: check out Old Broken Road’s cover, scope some of The Stars Were Right fan art on Pinterest, grab an Old Broken Road background, and make sure to sign up for my newsletter and be the first to know when it’s released!
I was pretty stoked when these showed up: fabulous one-inch The Stars Were Right buttons! These will come with any orders from my store or available at a con near you. There will be a few more styles as well, this was just the first batch and I got too excited, I had to share them.
Of course, these will be included in my swag packs which you can get for free!
I’d like to call attention to some restructuring here at the ol’ blog. The links to my books have moved under the “My Books” menu item so if you’re looking for a quick link to any of my book’s websites that’s where you’ll find them. There’s also a new section: Free Stuff!
For a while now I’ve been producing swag that I have been including in book orders from my store. It’s the same swag that I’ll be handing out for free at cons, things like bookmarks, stickers, and even buttons. Since conventions are generally hyperlocal I figured it’d be nice to offer that swag to those folks who won’t be able to make it out to my various con appearances. So if you’re interested in some bookmarks or stickers, just follow the instructions on the page and I’ll deliver a TSWR Swag Pack as soon as I can.
Going forward the plan is to continually update the Free Stuff page. I’m already working on more backgrounds, and as I mentioned I am looking into getting some buttons made as well. Check back often, you never know what I’ll be giving away.
