It’s been far too long so let’s make this official. If you’ve followed my Project Tracker, you’ll have noticed that I’m now halfway into writing the fourth novel of The Bell Forging Cycle. It’s high time I announce it.
Waldo Bell will return in: Gleam Upon the Waves.
Hired to work security for a political envoy, Waldo Bell and the crew of the Bell Caravans find themselves en route to Empress, the capital city of the hermit-nation of Victory. But things are never as simple as they seem. Sinister forces are circling; stuck in the middle, Wal will learn that darkness runs much deeper than he ever thought possible, reality is not what it seems, and a new apocalypse is much closer than anyone anticipates.
I’m targeting Gleam Upon the Waves to be about the length of Red Litten World. The story itself will be standalone, but we’re now at a point where reading the previous books will be helpful. If you read Red Litten World, you understand that there are a lot of moving parts now.
A teaser site has been live for a while but, you can see it here and read the epigraph. You can also check out my inspiration board over on Pinterest. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the plan is to work on this until it’s out. Y’all have been more than patient, and I’m excited. I think you’ll enjoy it.
I’ll see you on the trails, roaders. Things are going to get weird.

Red Litten World is out now! The misadventures of Waldo Bell continue. (Links to purchase below.) I’m so excited to be taking everyone from the high deserts of the Territories and back into the claustrophobic corridors and grungy warrens of Lovat. I think longtime readers will find a lot to enjoy Red Litten World, and new readers will have a blast learning about the megalopolis and its strange inhabitants and cultures. Setting out, the goal was to write something that felt both familiar but kept things fascinating. Thankfully, Lovat is a rich enough setting that I could write a book every year for a lifetime and still not explore every corner of the city.
For those who prefer paperbacks, you can pick up Red Litten World from any of the links below. If you’re looking for signed copies, I sell them through my online store for $15 (plus shipping). They look awesome.

Old Broken Road is out now!
That’s right, October 14th! Grab your keff and lace up your boots. Two weeks from now you’ll be able to join Waldo Bell on his next adventure: Old Broken Road.
That Tuesday the novel will be available digitally from Kindle, Kobo, iBooks, with Nook coming shortly afterward. Paperback copies are already in the works. I’m hoping they’ll be ready by October 14th, but if I can’t hit that date don’t worry, they’ll be coming soon. More on that as it develops.
Along with this announcement I have lowered the eBook version of The Stars Were Right to $2.99 pretty much everywhere. If you haven’t had a chance to read the first book now is a great time to grab it and start reading.
Get excited! There’s more to come. Check back often and make sure to add Old Broken Road to your to-read list on Goodreads, and tell your friends!
